Vice President
We are a work-from-anywhere communications and public affairs firm that supports established, startup, and growth-stage clients. Our work is at the intersection of strategic communications, movement building, public policy, and pop culture. Our team is energized by delivering original thinking to our clients and driving successful outcomes for mission-oriented individuals, organizations, and companies.
We’re looking for a seasoned professional to complement our communications/PR and public affairs work with our clients. This role is 100% remote.
The ideal candidate is/has:
Comfortable serving as the day-to-day point of contact for clients and has a track record of managing up and general client management
Understands our business model and our all-hands-on-deck approach
Previous experience working in democracy and civic action, entertainment/lifestyle, parenting, health, and/or food & nutrition
Able to plan and execute public relations campaigns, events, and initiatives to promote a client’s mission and programs
Able to monitor and analyze public opinion and legislative developments that may impact a client’s business or public image
Able to cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, government officials, community leaders, and members of the press
Technical skills such as strong writing skills and ability to craft effective messaging for executives
Inherent understanding of messaging, how to collect and/or anticipate questions in advance, and draft answers based on an overarching strategy
Experience building a narrative and visibility for CEOs and principals, including media interviews, appearances, social media, and other channels
Deep understanding of the ever-changing media landscape and an innovative approach to help different types of clients breakthrough
Able to oversee crisis communications, including developing and implementing strategies to address negative publicity or issues that may impact a client's reputation
Able to project manage accounts and own the media relations process from start to end; has experience developing strategy and pitch plans, reaching out to media, talking on background, staffing interviews with executives, and reporting success metrics back to clients
Strong network of media contacts who are covering the startup, tech, food industry, lifestyle, entertainment, political/policy, and/or general business, with a proven track record of media placement (connections in some but not all of these areas are required)
Minimum of 10+ years of experience working in communications, public relations and/or public affairs
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage microdetails while focusing on multiple projects
Comfortable working in a remote environment with tools such as Slack, Google Docs, and multiple video conference platforms
Mission-driven, curious, goal-oriented, a self-starter, and asks questions!
This role will be compensated as full-time, but we are open to individuals looking for contract work. We offer competitive pay, commissions, and incentives based on work experience and revenue generation, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
